Provence Picnic Basket
A tisket, a tasket, a REALLY woven basket and picnic blanket! This is the dimensional stitching Kelly is known for. Using wire to build a frame, threads are woven to created the desired effect. Embellished with miniature food, wine, flowers and a silver sun charm, this piece is a show stopper!

Gardener Claus
The brim of this gardening Santa’s hat uses the same dimensional stitching technique seen in some of Kelly’s other peices. Burled and beaded walnut make the perfect rustic molding to surround this overall country gardener.

Cockerel at Midnight
Just for fun, Kelly turned KCN 491-18 into a punch needle piece done in cotton, linen, and a touch of silk floss. This dandy rooster is framed simply with a grooved, rubbed wood molding.

Santa and Farm Friends
As if the stitching isn’t special enough, this framed canvas has a formal French matt and not one by two marbled paper insets. The black and white marble matt is beveled and allows enough clearance for the slight dimension on some of the stitching fibers to float free and not bump up against the non-glare glass.
Just lovely.

KCN 233- Christmas Basket
With all that is going on in this special dimensionally stitched canvas, a simple and elegant shadow box frame and black velvet matt was what was called for. With the basket protruding off the canvas, as well as the beads, ribbons and charms, the framer had to make certain that the framing would accommodate the depth of the piece.
Also keep in mind that when stitching a series like this basket and it’s siblings, you may want to think ahead to how you will want to finish the pieces: all alike or all different. This series is perfect for a perpetual calendar.

KCN 90-Springtime Topiaries
This shabby chic look was achieved by combining two moldings for the frame. The inner one is a rubbed, worn looking green paint washed wood that is surrounded by a wider, fancy scroll carved molding with a gilded, white washed finish. The combination was just right. I love the cheerful look of this.
